Disk info: I have only Intel's P55 controller turned on, only one HDD working in AHCI mode. I have TWO HFS+, GPT volumes created by stardart DiskUtility during install.

The issue:

  • When pinning folders from the second (non-OS) volume with custom icons (set through ⌘+I) to Finder's sidebar, it dissapears after reboot
  • When pinning folders from the second (non-OS) volume to desktop/dock/Finder's sidebar, I have to click two times or more after reboot. The same is true clicking hard disk (second volume only!) icon at desktop.
  • Sometimes second volume only! icon appears 30 seconds late after OS is booted

See

for a better explanation:

Attepts to overcome the issue:

  • Fully erased HDD and recreated partition on it
  • Asked another ppl with similar configuration

The issue disappears only after installing JMicron36xSATA, but I heard everywhere that I don't need that kext to get my system working. So, I need your help providing info how to overcome the issue without installing any kexts which I normally do not need.

whats disappearing

the folder or the costum icon ?

try diskutility to see if there are problems with your HD

switch of JMicron is Bios

Finally I resolved icon disappearing by downgrading the BIOS to previous (stable, F9) version. The main problem for now is: when I pin any directory fron another (non-system, HFS+) partition to Dock, I have to click it two or three times to appear in opposite to clicking just once without that bug. The same is with placing folders from non-system's partition or itself at the Desktop: I have to make two or three doubleclocking on it to appear. It was also shown in the video from my previous post.
