flacker
My present machine seems to be dying... I'd like to get a new inexpensive replacement. What should I bear in mind? 1. Is "Core Duo" important vs. "dual core"? If so, why(aside from that's what actual Macs use)? 2. Is Intel more important that AMD? I can't find a proper driver for my current Intel graphics, for example. 3. Speaking of graphics, which notebook chips provide QE/CI? Stuff like wireless is a little less critical, since that component can be changed later, if necessary. I'm a little confused since many people like very powerful machines, yet others seem to run OSx on little Atom-powered netbooks! Please note that I don't want to go searching on Craigslist/Ebay for used machines. I prefer a current model, as they are pretty cheap these days Stateside.
