Qjimbo
Hi All, I recently tried updating my iPC 10.5.6 install up to 10.5.8. It failed, however after restoring my extensions folder the system started up just fine. One problem however was now apparent, USB Drives weren't appearing anywhere other than tucked away in the system profiler. I read that this can be caused by a difference between System.kext and the kernal version, so I installed the Voodoo XNU 9.6.0 kernel to bring it back to being the same as System.kext, however the problem remains. Does anyone know a fix? Thanks!
Qjimbo
Fixed it myself. I installed the 4 kexts at the top of this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=117029 Thanks Slice!
BoyGeorge
I was having this issue too - thanks for finding that! I've been struggling with it for a while now and just about gave up and went back to Windows 7! Can't believe I couldn't find those kexts though Does it matter whether I put them in /System/Library/Extensions or /Library/Extensions?
Qjimbo
Glad I could help! Don't install them manually, use the install kexts function in OSX86 tools and you can hold shift and select all 4 and install them in one go. Works much better!
