Pikeman85
Hello, I'm new to the forums - and to Macs and Mac OSX86 in general. I want to try Mac OSX because my friend has suggested it is a superior OS. I am skeptical of his claims, but always willing to try something new out. Unfortunately I'm having quite a hell of a time getting it to work - I consider myself a fairly competent computer user and it is exceedingly difficult to work with. To start, my statistics are as follows (it's a bit old - I'll be upgrading probably in December, just hasn't been a priority): Proc: AMD Athlon 64-bit 3800+, 2.4 Ghz actual clock speed Motherboard: 939Dual-VSTA Memory: 2.5 gigs, not sure manufacturers Hard drive: 2 terabyte SATA, on my SATA II - Hitachi - divided into two partitions, one is NTFS, the other is currently formatted as HFS+ Optical Media: ATAPI DVD ATA device, according to device manager Current OS: Windows 7, 32-bit, upgrade from XP and Vista Anyway, I tried to install Kalyway first and had absolutely no luck. Couldn't find root device. Then I tried to install iDeneb. This was more successful - I got the installation to come up, and it seemed to format my 2nd partition to HFS+, and install. However after the first reboot during the install, I immediately got an ebios error, and it said that my media was some large negative block number, something like -4832839349. I attempted a dozen different things - changing bios settings (which seemed to make 7 run slower), and trying to use Chameleon (no luck as I didn't have active OSX), and even boot132 - which caused me to get a device timeout, after install. I have never been able to boot into OSX, I have tried EasyBCD, setting the partition as active in OSX install, boot132 - nothing seems to work. How do I get into OSX?
