seti007
Check this out http://news.com.com/2100-1002_3-6101192.ht...2&subj=news I recently installed OSX86 on one of my laptop computers and really like it. However, I thought that these type of security issues were a windows problem nit OSX. No such luck I suppose. I have noticed that OSX has much fewer popups etc while browsing and webpages load almost instantly. So far its been great. Has someone updated their system. Is it just a matter of going to apples website and getting upgrades or is it more complicated than that?

retroz
Many people have updated. Go to the blue Apple menu and select "Software Update..." Ram he stated his installed on his laptop....if it's a x86 laptop he can't just install the updates. That would kill the system, kexts, etc. To my understanding, you can only update software (NON OS) programs on a x86 machine. Please inform me if I am wrong. Thanks! Rammjet
Based on several threads on this board, people are able to install the Security Update straight from Software Update and/or the downloaded installer from Apple. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...c=23194&hl= I know this is contrary to past practice of not installing non-patched system software.
