kellogs
Hello, Having followed the recommendations of iAtkos readme not to install any kexts at first because they can be added at a later time, noe I am stuck at not being able to add the kexts. What I have tried so far: - inserted distro disk in hackintosh cd-tray ---> causes the system to ony see one icon named 'install iAtkos snow leopard' or something like that. Exploring that icon in Finder revealed another ~10 files none containing any kexts - inserted distro disk in a linux PC ---> this way I was able to access the boot sector I think (had all the boot0, boot1h, etc sort of files), again, only about 10 files or such - Noticed the distro disk had 2 partitions of which the first was already in use (mounted automatically upon insertion in cd tray) so I have attempted to #mount -t hfs /dev/disk1s3 /Volumes/somefolder but got back 'mount_hfs: pemission denied'. Help ?? thanks
3.14r2
One of the possible solutions is to use Mucommander http://www.mucommander.com/ . Brows DVD with it shows all files on media. Note that in some cases .kexts may be packed inside installer files (.pkg), so you will need to extract them using Pacifist: http://www.charlessoft.com/ EDIT: (thanks to Gringo Vermelho) . Or simply install from .pkg. Other option is to boot with DVD just like you would do then installing OS X. But this time in Customize section deselect anything you DON'T want to install and select only the thing you NEED to install. Just like that...
