Ok, so yes, I am a big noob but I've looked all over the net and havent found a viable solution to the problem im having. I've tried several OSX installation disks like IPCox86 and IDeneb, leo4allv3, and Kalyway. my system either ends up restarting before i have a chance to do ANYTHING or i end up on the gray apple logo and freeze there. I've tried starting in -x, -x32, -v, and cpus=1. I'm utterly lost.

One thing that I've learned from all of this is that Macs run on Intel (lucky for me)

I'l see if i can get my computer specs in another post. PLEASE if you can suggest ANYTHING I will be very grateful. thanks for your time.

I can suggest something. Post specs.

You'll not get any help if you don't at least post specs, as a minimum your CPU and motherboard chipset make and model.

The more specific you can be when asking questions, the better the answers. This should not come as a surprise.

Here's a random answer that may be of no use to you at all:

If your motherboard has nvidia nforce chipset, use the forum search to find verdant's nforce installation guide.

Your Asus is an old AMD CPU nForce chipset MOBO with a nForce2 MCP Southbridge chipset..........so suggest you try Kalyway 10.5.2 again:

Nvidia_Geforce > None

Audio_Drivers > None

Ok, I'l give it another go. I hope you guys know that i really appreciate this. I'l fill you in if it works or not. (fingers crossed). I really want to see this work.

EDIT:

well she kicked, but it didn't do a thing, except restart right after I hit F8 and hit enter or hit F8 and put -x, -v, or -x32.

I've heard that you need the very latest BIOS to actually install MacOSX on a PC. I'l have a look into that next. if you have any more suggestions I am definitely interested in hearing what you have to say. BTW I'm not dual booting this PC, My plans are to just run MacOSX (since the computers old and I dont have a use for it except testing OS's hahaha). If i absolutely HAVE to dual boot, TELL ME because Im running Ubuntu right now and I would need to know what format to.....format the second partition. (already looked, no FAT32)

THANKS ALOT! :(

Try booting with -v idlehalt=0

Try booting with -v idlehalt=0

Ok, well I gave that a try (also just tried separating them IE: just idlehalt=0)

but It didn't kick. I boot to disk like usual and it put's a few lines of code in but it just stops and the computer restarts. I myself find it odd.

the very few lines of code that it DOES show end with the lines "loading HFS+ files (/system/library/extensions)". right after that it restarts. will try -v idlehalt=0 on the other disks. i really want this to work :P

Ok, tried all of the disks. put in -v idlehalt=0 and also idlehalt=0 alone on all disks. the furthest I got was to the second splash screen and I froze :) I got something at the end of the second splash screen. I quote "waiting for remote debugger connection" and underneath that "kdp_poll: no debugger device". I can also take a picture if you need the whole splash screen. And yes, i did wait a while before turning off my computer and putting in another disk. i must have waited around 10 - 20 minutes on each disk, except the ones that reboot immediately.

thanks a bunch

Nothin'. did exactly what it did the last time. do you think that it could be the format of the HDD? I could look for a formatting software on Ubuntu to format a partition, then install kalyway on that partition?

The Install DVD would need to boot properly first before you can run Disk Utility to see if the HDD is recognised........it should be a primary partitionand simple NTFS or FAT32 volume.......

Alternatively, try LawlessPPC 10.5.4 distro or Leo4All AMD...........

well, I have Leo4All but I'll have a look at LawlessPPC 10.5.4

heh, this is proving quite a dilemma, installing MacOSX...........

oh and I haven't tried zephiroth or whatever it's called. I've heard its meant for older AMD systems.... I don't have a lot of bandwidth left but, if lawless doesn't work then that MIGHT be my next try (assuming you already know if its usefull or not)

Zephyroth is worth a try assuming none of the above work........

zephiroth did nothing but restart my system like alot of the disks i have. Lawless on the other hand was in my books, the closest I've ever gotten to actually booting to the disk. when I started it, it loaded tons, and tons of drivers, and then it got to the second splash screen. it input a couple lines of code but froze -.- i felt like i got sooo close though. ITS TOO TANTALIZING. ARGH! but anyhow. wish this would work :(
