Noob build. Will this work?

I'd like to preface this with the fact that I have never done this before.

 

I'm considering this:

 

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD9 LGA 1366 X58 SATA 6gb/s USB 3.0 XL ATX

 

Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8ghz 4 x 256 L2 Cache 8MB l# Cache LGA 1366

 

put it all on this:

Add some corsair ram.

 

And then re-use my old g5 nvidia graphics card.

 

And maybe my g5 power?

 

And then put it all in my old g5 case.

 

 

I'd like to have the system as a back up for my FCS system.

 

I'm just wondering if all this will play nicely together and if there is a build I can follow. I've looked at a lot, but i honestly can't tell which ones are the most recent and correspond to what I'm looking to do.

 

Or should I go with a gulftown. Being my first build I'm a little nervous of frying a $1k chip.
