It's a weird situation, i admit.

I see there's Realtec 8101E chip on G31M-S2C. As far as i know OS X doesn't support it natively. Do you use any specific kext in /Extra for your ethernet card?

Could you post your kernel log?

Maybe it's not a bad idea to delete all ethernet connections and to configure them again from the beginning.

If you can't manage to repair your ethernet finally I would advice you to install the OS X 10.6.4 combo update downloaded from Apple. This should bring you back your ethernet.

Hey man, I can see that you are using the same nvida card that me, what are you using with this video graphics card, thanks, I´m installing snow leopard again and I will install the combo update as soon as i finish, of course moving the sleep enabler before. Also the ethernet only gives me a fake ip i mean no router ip address, and of course not internet conection, thnks again

This is what I have in com.apple.boot.plist:

<key>Graphics Enabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>

Also my DSDT is perfect and there's the nVidia section declared. You can get rid of SleepEnabler.kext by modifying further more your DSDT. A very good starting point is the DSDT editor and patcher thread.

This happened to my brother, too. And he uses a MacBook! The problem was that his password was reset/corrupted somehow during the update and the key chain got inaccessible. After setting the password manually anew everything works fine again.

See these instructions how to set the password anew.

I hope this may help you.
