gdenchev
Hello, I spent several nights trying to install OSX on an older computer. I need to install at least Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I have created BIOS settings screens and installation screens to show exactly my configuration actions. First, several clarifications: 1. I cannot boot from USB, don't know why, it seems supported by BIOS. 2. I am using Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard.iso, burned on a DVR+R. Here are the BIOS configurations: Here is the install process (machine, HDD and video info included): Some more info: 1. The installation completes without problems. 2. Installed OSX cannot boot, instead reboots (details in last images in verbose mode). Using Pause and resume I have managed to see what happens just before reboot - some message about unsupported video mode resolution. 3. I tried to boot the installer again, run terminal, search through the logs (e.g. system.log). Unfortunately the logs are empty - maybe the reboot/crash happens too early or I am not looking in the right place for logs. Well I think this is it. Does anyone have any ideas - some BIOS settings, additional packages to install, etc.? Thanks in advance, Georgi
gdenchev
Additional info: Other distributions (iAtkos S7 V2, iPortable Snow) panic early during the install process. The message is something like: ___ ... Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies): com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform(1.3)@0x1b617000->0x1b657fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.3.0)@0x1b379000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6.3)@0x1b576000 ___ I have seen many threads that claim running Intel GMA950 (ID: 2772) is possible. What am I not doing right? Is the only option DSDT patching? Thenks, Georgi
glinan
Dude, try iAtkos S3 Version 2. It works perfectly with DC7600, i have an HP DC7600 CMT (Convertible Mini Tower), almost the same as yours. Try it. It's updateable aswell, just updated with 10.6.4. Just a heads up, sleep doesn't work when wifi is on, for some reason. And when it goes back from sleep, i lose all my USB functionality. Don't know how to fix it though. But overall, i don't use sleep anyway, so it's cool. What's your progress?
