Removing pre-installed kexts from SL 10.6 install

Hello,

I just got SL installed on my Dell XPS M1530 (T9500 2.6, nvidia 8600m GT, 4gb, Sigmatel C-Major Audio). I installed using the retail SL DVD which I loaded onto a flash drive and booted using Chameleon loader RC4. While it is running decently right out of the box, I know that I do not need all the kexts that were installed with the system. My question is, which kexts are essential for normal system operations? My assumption is that so long as I keep only those required by the OS, I can wipe the rest of them. Thanks in advance for any assistance/tips/thoughts.

OS X only loads kernel extensions that are needed. Deleting unused kernel extensions won't make any difference.

Open System Profiler and look under "Extensions" to see which ones are loaded.

Don't randomly delete kernel extensions without knowing what they are for. You might need them later.
