seemonkey08
So I installed Snow Leopard in VMware, got that working, there was no sound output recognized...looked it up, found EnsoniqAudioPCI.mpkg. Installed that no there is sound of fairly good quality, I'd tried AppleAC97Audio.kext first and it just popped all the time. So now I tested with itunes, just played through a song, working fine. Just installed and updated Garageband, which is the entire reason I went through all of this and immediately sound cuts out, and I get a message saying...The default audio device cannot be opened: A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system. Failed to connect virtual device sound. If I close garageband, I can connect the audio device again and it works fine. Very frustrating, I'd never done anything like this before and have spent about 8 hours total....Anyone have any ideas or suggestions, they'd be much appreciated. Picu97
Sound in VMware won't work. Sound card emulated on it is SoundBlaster 128 PCI. You need to install Mac OS on your computer and see if sound works
