toology
When I mute the sound via OSX volume settings, I get a THUMP sound as if I manually unplugged speakers from the sound card while turned on. This also happens when starting OSX. Otherwise the sound works normally I am using the integrated Analog Devices AD1988A codec from my Asus P5B motherboard, VoodooHDA.kext is installed through iATKOS S3 v2 (my distro). I also have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Pro, but I still haven't dared try kX drivers for OSX. I know this is a very small issue, but I wanted to see if perhaps it is easy to fix. alexpele13
I have pretty much the same problem, but my sound sounds ALWAYS like that. I haven't managed to fix it yet.
MaLd0n
Remove irqs-> pic and tmr devices, the problem may be that! can apply this patch use the DSDT EDITOR AND PATCHER http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=223205 # Remove IRQ from device PIC and move IRQs from devices RTC and TMR to device HPET # into device name_hid PNP0000 code_regex IRQNoFlags\s\(\)\n\s+\{(\d+)\} remove_matched; into device name_hid PNP0100 code_regex IRQNoFlags\s\(\)\n\s+\{(\d+)\} store_%8; into device name_hid PNP0100 code_regex IRQNoFlags\s\(\)\n\s+\{(\d+)\} remove_matched; into device name_hid PNP0B00 code_regex IRQNoFlags\s\(\)\n\s+\{(\d+)\} store_%9; into device name_hid PNP0B00 code_regex IRQNoFlags\s\(\)\n\s+\{(\d+)\} remove_matched; into device name_hid PNP0103 code_regex_not IRQNoFlags code_regex Name\s\(([^,]+),\sResourceTemplate\s\(\)\n\s+\{((?:.|\n)*)\}\) replace_matched begin Name (%1, ResourceTemplate ()\n {\n IRQNoFlags ()\n {%8}\n IRQNoFlags ()\n {%9}\n %2 }) end *Remove IRQ from device PIC and move IRQs from devices RTC and TMR to device HPET*
toology
Thanks for your reply, but Ill have to do some major research about DSDT editing before I can use that info. I literally installed OSX with only 4 aditional kexts + default on iATKOS S3, everything works except sleep, front usb ports and this bug. MaLd0n
DSDT EDITOR and PATCHER --> greatly facilitates in many cases a different version of the kext solves the problem but we must apply this fix anyway
