walterav Posted August 1, 2006 Share Posted August 1, 2006 Hi there, "Still waiting for rootdevice" TIP During installation I get the "still waiting for rootdevice" so i installed the 10.4.4./5myzar iso on a different machine "external firewire disk partitioned with diskpart id=af" and imaged it back to this laptop. "I used selfimage v1.11" So I installed it on 1 machine and continued the installation/ registration on the ICH7 laptop. During install I had 3 extra options on the Myz install DVD -maxxus ownage -amd enabler -10.4.5 update I only did the first one. hoping it will automaticly choose the right kernel, because the installation pc was intel sse2 and the desired ICH7 laptop was CoreDuo "ICH7 LAptop" "XXODD 570U3" the installation continued fine on the imaged volume. Coreduo 2,16ghz 2gb ddram QE working out of the box with ATI X1600 "resolution change not working, except with graphics MODE etc" HDA audio working with changing the vendorID to REALTEK ID's realtek network was working out of box bluetooth2.0 USB/FIREWIRE was working out of the box DVDdrive DVDdrive was not working!!! "Secondary SLAVE"!!! Is there a way to activate it? After the boot of the boris installation the screen kept BLACK. After that I installed the osx10.4.4 version which started 3 times faster and gave me working audio to, but i was afraid that i would mess up the installation again with the boris thing because the uninstaller wasn't working. But I might try it if the laptop is in my hands again. BTW does the boris patch give you 1900-1200 instead of 1600-1200? and will it give colour profiles in the display settings? Will it support dual display? i have DVI out on the laptop It will give you the resolutions that your display can handle, if that is 1900x1200, then yes. Yes, it will give profiles, but you probably will have to create one manually through the assistant. Maybe on dual display abd DVI.
