Mac doesn't want to install anymore

I had my hackintosh running just a little while ago.

Due to circumstances I had with my mac, I had to format the hard drive.

Now I wanted mac back on it, but it doesn't want to install any more ???

I booted the ##### supporded/nvidia cds , both give the same result.

So, I load the SL Retail DVD, and boot it. No kernel panics or whatever. I just come to the language selection area, then I format my hard drive to GUID and MAC Journaled or something. Further on I choose which hd to install, I get to the before-install screen, and uncheck all the options given.

Then comes install the screen. That where it goes wrong. It goes on to just 19 minutes remaining (a percent or 5 to 10, I think) and then it just stops .... It does not move anymore. If I want to look at the install logs, I get the rotating rainbow that it's loading, and I get my pc only off with a forced poweroff. Pressing the power on/off button ...

Anyone's got an ide what this could be?

The only thing what's changed is that my IDE CD/DVD drive (with IDE to SATA adapter) is removed, and a SATA CD / DVD drive came in the place for it..

I don't understand anything of this....

If I was you I won't give up :)

That what I'll suggest to you:

1. Install the latest motherboard BIOS

2. Load BIOS safe defaults

3. Set hdd controller to AHCI and HPET to 64 bit, disable onboard IDE controller in BIOS

4. Leave only one HDD connected to SATA0 (disconnect Win7, Ubuntu and other HDDs) where you would like to install OS X

5. Leave only 2GB of RAM

6. Do your installation -- there're plenty of people here with i5 CPUs and P55 motherboards successfully installed and running OS X.

7. Also reading this blog (forum also) could be very useful & helpful to you - P55, X58, H55 motherboards OS X installation, DSDTs, special boot CDs with Intel iX CPU support, etc.

Your hardware is OS X compatible, never give up, search, read and ask :)

2. DONE

3. DONE (ide off: NOT done)

4. DONE

5. Eh, why?

6. That's the thing: it won't install :)

And witch method should I use?

A year ago i had pretty old RAM (4x1GB) and OS X was stopping in the middle of the installation. I tried at least 70 times to install it and it was stopping just in the middle with no reasonable message. I decided to leave only 1GB of RAM (removed the rest 3x1GB). Then out of the blue OS X installed flawlessly :) Later I found that one of these DIMMs I removed was a semi defective and that was the reason for my installation failures.

I'll suggest you to read into the Tony's blog. There are installation methods described, P55 boot CDs, good support and a discussion forum.

And finally, the idea is never to give up. There should be something small you're missing :)

EDIT: Inspect again carefully if the SATA DVD isn't connected to SATA0! OS X target HDD should be connected to SATA0

I've even posted this question @ tony's forum: no reply. @ his blog, no usefull information.

Mac hd= sata0.

I don't know what's going on....

I've got an SH-S223C/BEBE cd/dvd drive (as a replacement of my older IDE drive, with a sata adapter). Could that give the problems?

You mean the new CD/DVD drive is also with IDE interface but with SATA adapter? If so, that could be a potential reason for unsuccessful installation. If you could borrow from a friend a real SATA DVD you could try another installation.

aa, I see. Huh, very strange case... I think you shouldn't give up. Search in this forum or in the Tony's forum -- there must be a solution! Wish you a success

-x gives a keyboard and mouse in EmireEFI and Nawcom but no install. #####=no install.

I've got a 10.6.4 in a vm, can I do something with that one?
