BloodBust
is this possible? because i lost my flash drive, and I have 3 hard drives, one of which I could use to install it like it was from a flash drive. I've tried it already with iAtkos v7 but whenever I load it, to install it, the error "Missing Operating System" and If I use boot 132, it just restarts the computer. Any ideas? Gringo Vermelho
You can use Disk Utility to "restore" an OS X retail DVD to a hard drive partition and install from that.
BloodBust
I don't have a retail CD, nor do I have a copy of it, nor do I have any DVDs, seeing as I am broke currently.
Gringo Vermelho
You can do the same thing with a hacked install DVD, but obviously you need to be able to boot into some form of OS X in order to use Disk Utility. You cannot boot a hacked install DVD with a boot 132 CD. Boot CDs can only boot a retail DVD (and an OS X installation on non-optical media). BloodBust
I "got" a copy of Leopard, and used Leopard hd install helper (ddmac) to "burn" it to my 3rd hard drive, and i tried to use boot 132 but whenever i load it, it just sits there with a flashing cursor. Gringo Vermelho
That reminds me of the old days. Google/Forum search "Darwin Blinking Cursor". Try a boot CD that uses a more recent bootloader, such as EmpireEFI, ##### or myHack. None of these seemed to work right.
Gringo Vermelho
Make sure you're booting an unmodified retail DVD. Boot CDs don't work with hacked install DVDs that already have a bootloader installed.
