I've got a noname (Huge Bee) laptop - p4 northwood (sse2 only).

main os is linux.

grub dual boots with osx 7gig partition

i need the platform=X86PC boot tag otherwise my laptops keyboard doesn't work, and neither does the built-in touchpad (synaptics).

anyways, the machine will boot mac a few times - anywhere from ~5 times to ~15 times, and then it will just stop booting half way through any attempt afterwards

the only system change i've made is maxxuss' sse3->2 and tpm patch (although i still had this booting problem when all i did was delete the tpm kernel file).

other stuff is just changing system preferences and browsing the web - nothing more.

anyways

once the problem starts happening, it always freezes just after enabling the mouse cursor on the grey apple screen - booting with -v shows the last thing before a freeze as: display: vram [(and then a memory address here]

i've also run into a kind of weird problem that from all i've read shouldnt be happening (albeit it is kind of hard to sort through all the info in the wiki and forums): i've got an intel motherboard, i815 graphics (works fine - identifies as vesa 3.0).... however the system never detects my audio - which is AC97 - intel ICH4. the device/manufacturer id listed by lspci in linux matches the one in the osx audio plist....

using -v on boot i sometimes get a vague irq error when trying to load the intelac97 kext, other times i get a error that implies the device doesn't match the one in the plist definition file...

one more thing about the boot freeze - booting to single user mode works fine even after the freezing bootup starts

so, any help keeping the machine from eventually failing on bootup every time would be great, and if anyone has any ideas on the audio i'd appreciate that as well (albeit it wont be of much use if i cant get the machien to boot right)

Seems the OS is self destructive, huh? :( You might try to revert back to the original oah750 file if you exchanged that one. Some patched version seem to have problems leading to the symptoms you describe. Also, temporarily remove all graphics-related kexts. For me the OpenGL driver was doing this sometimes.
