I have a Latitude E4310 that I'd like to get SL installed on. Spec are:

Intel® Core i5 CPU M 520 @ 2.40GHz

Intel® HD Graphics

DW1520 Wireless-N WLAN Half-Mini Card

I haven't found anyone else running the E4310 with SL so was wondering what the best boot disk etc would be.

Anyone have any recommendations for me?

Steve

i just got it working using this http://blog.katharsys.com/?p=931 i still need sound and network if anyone knows the trick

Hi, I am in the same position. My wired network is working but the wireless and sound aren't.

Has anyone managed to update to 10.6.4? The update to 10.6.3 worked fine but after installing 10.6.4 it refuses to boot and just sits at the grey loading screen. Verbose boot mode doesn't show any errors.

I can live without sounds and wireless but really need 10.6.4 so that I can install the iOS development environment.

I am new to the world of Mac and Hackintosh so if anyone could help i'd be very greatful.

Any luck?

Any luck?

Yes - well kinda ;)

Sound - http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/downloa...A-2.7.2.pkg.zip

The volume controls don't work but I only use the sound for iTunes and you can control the volume there. I expect with a bit of fiddling you could get this work properly.

Wireless - I bought a USB wireless dongle that's compatible with OSX. I couldn't find a kext for the internal 1501 wireless.

I haven't updated to 10.6.4 as I've found that the iOS dev environment can be installed on 10.6.3 (despite what the documentation says). By theory is that 10.6.4 doesn't work with the Intel integrated graphics without a seperate accelerator.

To be honest I've been won over by OSX and am seriously thinking about buying one of the new MacBook Air's and leaving the Dell at work.

Jedis,

Can you please share the final DSDT that works for you? I also have a E4310 also with a i5-560

Following the guide on this forum, i was able to install SL 10.6.3 and then update to 10.6.6.

Also replaced my wifi card with a Dell DW1510 card. It was plus and play.

The only issues i have are

1. No sleep

2. No external VGA

3. No QE/CI

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

Well, finally took the plunge.

VoodooHDA got the sound working. Wifi is not cooperating though and I've ordered a Broadcom card that should work natively.

Did anyone get a DSDT that works with the E4310 to enable advanced graphics settings?

Mine is in the same state as yours. Though I haven't tried external VGA. QE/CI will never work with our laptop because no one wrote a driver to work with the Intel HD video on our Arrandale processors.
