Hey All,

I don't have QE/CI, and I don't mind. I just got a new 20" widescreen LCD, with a naitive res of 1680×1050.

I want my 10.4.7 OS X installation to have that res but it maxes out on 1400×1050 and hence my screen looks weird. I have been forcing res using apple.com.Boot.plist but I tried using Callisto using the method discribed here. Alas. no go, still at 1400×1050 and still as fugly as hell.

Please help!

Thanks.

well it seems you need it for widescreen resolutions. i'm having the same problem

right now i've gone into bios and deactivated the standard setting that stretches out the screen image for non-native resolutions. i'd recommend doing that so that the aspect ratio at least looks right. you'll have black bars on the side of your screen, but it's less annoying

edit; this thread might help you http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=10415

Ah yes, I was thinking about this. I thought it was software/GPU related. I know with nVidia cards you can do this, and some certain mointors do this, but my ATi card doesn't even do it under Windows.

OK, I just got QE/CI working

As you can see there, its still not going to a higher resolution. I'll try Callisto now.. My com.apple.Boot.plist looks like this:

<key>Kernel</key>
	<string>mach_kernel</string>
	<key>Kernel Flags</key>
	<string>-v</string>
	<key>Boot Graphics</key>
	<string>Yes</string>
	<key>Timeout</key>
	<string>10</string>
	<key>Graphics Mode</key>
	<string>1680x1050x32</string>

EDIT - Ommi's site is down by the looks of it :/. Is b006 hosted somewhere else?

But I had my card exchanged due to a problem.

The old one worked like a charm with QE / CI (tearing removed with mousepose) and Callisto.

Now in the new one this trick is not working. As you have the same card and working on MACOS X, I would link to give it a try!

The one that works for me is the default one, interestly enough. The one that Windows detects as a x800 SE, even though it ain't.

I just changed the vendor ID to 1002 in the card's BIOS.

Here when I change mine, in this one, Windows detects it as a x800/x850 card, probably it´s why it´s not working in OSX.

If you can send me the dump (rom), please send to asapreta@gmail.com

Thanks.

Thanks man.

I saw you sent the original one without changing the vendor ID.

I´ll do it here and then start a clean install of a 10.4.5 OSX.

I´ll keep you posted and thanks again.
