thank you very much wangerman! the first forum that gives me a reply so fast! im going to look around that link now! what im wondering is that.. when i bought this pc it came with windows vista.. but a week ago, my brother took it from me and formatted it and put xp 32 and told me something about the hard drive drivers (he had to put them on the xp ISO so it recognized the HD or something like that).. im afraid if it will give me some trouble that thing!

thank you

alex from argentina!

edit: i have just read that i have to use Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.0 Hazard AMD/Intel SSE2 SSE3 Installer. i dont need something like EFI to boot it?

It shouldn't do I got as far as installing 10.6.0 on my 6500 without kernel panic using ideneb didnt have sound or wifi but everything else worked and if I took the time to sort it I would have cracked that, I just bought a Dell Mini 10v for hackintosh and put linux back on the HP

Good luck

I have not tried the distro but I imagine it's all there.

I am afraid I cannot directly link to a distro but I would try a popular pirate related torrent site :(

Not sure about a tutorial I just went for it but you could try a search of the forum here or do a google

Ok, if found the version but it says, "patched for pc".. it should be by Hazard yes or yes right? another thing is that in my bios configuration i dont have the option to disable sata or manage the AHCI, what should i do?

If it describes it as 10.6 by hazard sse2 sse 3 I would say you are good to go. From memory I think the installer detected my HDD without any bios alterations, try it first and if your HDD fails to appear have a play with your bios.

All I can suggest is you give it a go there's no harm in trying.

There is a youtube video of a DV6500 hackintosh you could find out what versions were used on there.

Hi wanger, do you know if i need a bootloader? which one? and also can i boot the SL from a pendrive? thank you!!

Hello mate

hope you had a good day

You will almost certainly need a bootloader have a read up here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSx86#Boot_lo...s_and_emulators

And you can make a booting retail install of SL I have never tried to make my own bootable version of another distro

Guide for a bootable SL pen drive here http://lifehacker.com/5360150/install-snow...acking-required

There is even a video

Personally I always start as a fresh install so I know there isnt anything still on the drive to mess things up. If you have made backups and have the OS install disks then go ahead and wipe the drive. I don't believe the type of format you choose makes much of a difference as you have to reformat to Mac journaled anyway.

If it were me I would format as fat 32.

even better do you have a spare drive ?.

I like to do a trial install of any os first on this before messing with the main system. Carefully record every step you make so when you finally have an install up and running you can replicate this on your main drive.
