NezzariX
I installed Snow Leopard on a hard drive and used chameleon to boot it. I booted with no problems and got lan and sound to work with 2 kexts a friend gave me. However, after upgrading to 10.6.4 using the combo update, I received kernel panics every time I boot. Is there something special I have to do? I thought that having a vanilla installation allowed you to update without issues. Any help is appreciated. I don't mean to be rude, but why even bother posting if you have nothing to say? There is a reason why I only have a few posts despite using OS X on intel hardware since the first version of tiger for x86 leaked online. Contrary to what you may assume, I exhaust all my other resources before posting in a forum that is typically populated with people like you. Believe it or not (brace yourself as this may come as a shock!) i've read many many posts and tried several different things without any luck. I don't mean to be rude but I spend a lot of time here looking for answers myself (because of this I know that most basic problems and a lot of complex issues have already been coverd and you just need to search to find a solution.) and constantly see vague questions like this. "I have a kernel panic!" well what kind of panic? It's also very frustrating when looking for information to find multiple threads on the same topic (believe me there are a lot of threads entitled "10.6.4 kernal panic.".) as most will be a question , 'i have a kernel panic' and no solution is given. So you spend a lot of time reading 'spam'! I hope you understand.
