zooloo
Hi all, I just built my new Hackintosh and need help tweeking it. My hardware specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-G31M-ESL2 Processor: Core 2 Duo E8400 Video: Nvidia 9600 GT Memory: 4GB RAM DDR2 Hard Drive: 1x300GB 7200 rpm Power Supply 500w DVDRW Serial ATA Edimax USB WiFi EW-7711UAn I followed this guide to install OSX, http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...mp;hl=G31M-ESL2 It's up and running but I have various problems: If I boot from the OSX partition, I have a display issue where I get a message saying "out of range", the display resolution seems to default to something higher than my monitor can handle and there is no other resolution option in the system prefs. If I boot from my Boot CD, then choose my OSX partition, it defaults to 1024 x 768 which seems to work fine, clearly I don't want to boot from the CD all the time and then choose my OSX partition, how do I fix this? I don't seem to have any sound The install guide said to remove my NVIDIA card before installation of OSX. How do I install my PCI-E graphics card? How do I install my WiFi adapter? any help would be greatly appreciated.... thanks.
zooloo
hi, me again... so I've managed to get everything working except the graphics card... I'm really stumped with the EFI strings and getting the machine to recognise the card? This thread seems indicate that it does work, but for the life of me I can't figure out how? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105539 Can anyone help ... pretty please? oldtopman
You may want to post this in the hardware section, unless we have a dedicated video card section. Also: Your first link goes to a page written in french. Most board members speak only english.

Hi, I posted this here, as the rules say that noobs cannot post anywhere else but in this section ... so rather than breaks the rules I posted this here.... I'm not sure at which point I can post in other subforums? also if you use Chrome or Safari, you can translate the page into english which made it possible for me, an english speaker, to follow the guide. oldtopman
I didn't realize that... Sorry. I was here before the "New Users Lounge" and the only major restriction (when I was new here) was that you had to have 5 posts before you could make a topic.
