hottcarl
Hi everyone, I haven't messed around with Hackintosh since the early days of the first few kernel hacks. Using OS X encouraged me to go out and buy a Mac, but unfortunately my Macbook Pro died on me a few weeks ago and I can't afford another right now Currently I am trying to get SL installed on my old Intel DG965WH with C2D. I have tried everything I can think of, but I just cannot seem to get it running. 1. Tried this guide http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...ac-os-x-on.html. Double kernel panic during installer load. Didn't spend much time with this one. Used a legally purchased SL retail disc. 2. Tried a leohazard disc. After installing from a USB optical drive rather than my internal IDE, I was able to get the installer to pull up and it seemed to install successfully. I wasn't sure what kexts to install - I've tried everywhere from all to none, and everywhere in between. Even though I install the bootloader from the customize options, it still won't boot by itself (No boot device). I tried booting with the ##### disc, and it starts to load but then I get an "EBIOS Read Error: 0x01" 3. Finally, tried Protocol-X's iPortable OS X. First boot it complained about ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext and panicked. I removed this and rebuilt the cache, and it booted extremely slowly (Said waiting on DSMOS), but finally i got to my registration screen. Did all that, and then it resulted in just a blue screen with mouse cursor. I've spent a few days on this. I'm extremely patient and enjoy hacking around, but I'm also practical and don't want to waste my time. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I should be doing? A lot of the guides require a Mac, but obviously since mine is dead the only one I have is an old iMac G3 running 10.3. Sorry for tl;dr Sorry, I should point out my full specs: Intel DG965WH - 965 chipset, ICH8 Core2Duo 1.8 E6300 8GB RAM (only 2GB in while doing this work) 9600GT

I'm hoping someone could please reply to this thread as I've been on this issue for almost a year!
Gringo Vermelho
Did all that, and then it resulted in just a blue screen with mouse cursor. You are seeing the second display in a two-monitor setup. OS X has put your desktop on a display output with no monitor plugged in. Use the other monitor output on your video card. Use a DVI-VGA converter if you have to. Alternatively you can change the display output order by manipulating the NVCAP value in your injection method (DSDT/injector.kext/Display-Properties String/Chameleon GraphicsEnabler). Google 'guide for all nvidia boards' or 'NVCAP' for more information. If you're using Chameleon 2.0 RC5 (or AsereBLN) GraphicsEnabler, look up in the Chameleon documentation how to override the NVCAP value. revans80
I am new to this forum and new to hackintoshing. I apologize for posting after I have done research but I have searched for users with my specific hardware and have found them but the forum will not allow me to DM them. I have an Intel Corporation DG965WH (LGA 775) motherboard and a 256MB GeForce 7900 GS (PNY) graphics card. I have a couple questions regarding how to get my setup to work correctly. I am able to install Lion with GraphicsEnabler set to "no". There is no existing DSDT for my mobo. In that case I should be using ##### to install basic kexts for my motherboard or make other selections further down in #####? I installed once without ##### and managed to get networking and sound to work, but none of the devices are recognized and the system rebooted without shutting down. I also was not able to see my HDD or optical drives inside the OS. Should I use NVEnabler for my graphics card to be recognized and utilize full resolution settings?
