Hi,

I tried looking for this solution but couldn't find it in the forums so far...

I got a new machine running Intel Core i5 650... I have Windows 7 installed... Am trying to install Snow Leopard using the iAtkos s3 dvd but am not able to boot with this dvd...

I am able to get to the point where it asks me to boot from the iAtkos dvd and then I get to the green chameleon screen but the computer restarts right after that...

Also tried booting from an older iAtkos distro (v7, 10.5.7), that used to work on an older setup perfectly.. but the same problem.. boots right after i get the first install screen...

i also tried booting with the verbose (-v) option, but still the same thing... get some messages onscreen and then it boots after a few second...

any help..?

regards,

Brainstormer

Thanks a ton buddy... that seemed to work and i am a step further now...

booted with -v busratio=24 and cpus=1 and i could boot from the disk...

got to the installation screen, did the customize, and i managed to install with "Install Successful" message... however, after the system reboots, i just get a flash of the apple logo and then the screen goes blank and the system restarts...

could this be because of some of the options that i chose while install (in the customize section)...? in that case, could u tell me what options i should choose while installing...? or is there any other solution...?

i am trying other permutations in the customize section as i type this... but any help would be appreciated..

my specs:

cpu: intel core i5 650

mobo: DH55TC

graphics card: nvidia xfx 512 mb

RAM: kingston 4gb DDR3

well, i tried booting with -v busratio=24 and cpus=1 but i get the same thing... get a few lines of text that scrolls for about a second and then the system restarts...

i then tried booting in safe mode (with -v -x busratio=24 and cpus=1).. still no go... i got several screens with a lot of text scrolling through and then the reboot...

re-installed the mac OS with slightly different options in the customize thing... but the same thing as above...

doesnt leave me with too many options after this, does it...?

by the way, thanks for ur time...

-regards

i have a dell laptop with a core i5 processor and i'm in the process of following this tutorial http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...ac-os-x-on.html

so far i've had some luck with iatkos s3 and booting the off the hd using ##### (which i downloaded from the link above) however it only boots in safe mode. i installed it with chameleon 2 rc4 (10.6 version) and am still attempting to get it to boot normally

Try downloading ##### Supported from the TonyMacx86 site.

##### Supported is made specially for Core iX CPU's and doesn't need busratio at boot :)

I used it for my DH55TC (i7 though. Your should still work though!) and I'm flawlessly running 10.6.4.

I have the same processor, for Leopard I used the flags busratio and cpu, up to 10.6.4.

For 10.6.5 I didn't need those parameters, but I'm now using chameleon 2.0RC5-pre8.

I used the ##### CD and installed ##### from the ##### application. That should work for you too!
