Sorry to give you a head ache mate but i hate giving up on things this will NOT beat me How much space do you have for OS X as the best time-saving solution is to set up two equal size OS X volumes.........this way you can keep a working version to clone onto your test volume and/or fix your test volume OS X system..........saves fresh re-installs if something goes really wrong........ 1. Try swapping your display connector to the other port on your video card..........and if that does nothing, then 2. Boot with -s and at the prompt, type mount -uw / rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*.kext exit and see what happens........ To add kexts to /System/Library/Extensions, use Kext Helper b7 in OS X, or Transmac in Windows.........

verdant
Ok thanks will look forward to it thanks again Try the following procedure: 1. Download and run the standalone 10.5.7 Combo Update installer 2.Then in Terminal, type: cd /System/Library/Extensions/ ls 3. Confirm that the file list contains these kexts: GeForce.kext NVDANV10Hal.kext NVDANV20Hal.kext NVDANV30Hal.kext NVDANV40Hal.kext NVDANV50Hal.kext NVDAResman.kext NVSMU.kext then type exit in Terminal and reboot 4. Boot into single user mode (-s option on bootloader) 5. Type the following commands: mount -uw / mkdir /GFXKext cp -p -r /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce*.kext /GFXKext/ cp -p -r /System/Library/Extensions/NV*.kext /GFXKext/ cd /GFXKext/ ls 6. If all the NV* and GeForce* kexts are in /GFXKext/, then rm -r -f /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce*.kext rm -r -f /System/Library/Extensions/NV*.kext cd /System/Library/Extensions/ ls exit boot 7. If all the the NV* and GeForce* kexts are gone, then re-boot with -v -f 8. You will be using VESA mode so no QE/CI functions at present 9. Use OSX86Tools to install the following EFI graphics string (.hex file) for your graphics card GTX260_896_216.zip into com.apple.Boot.plist 10. Use KextHelper b7 to install the GeForce* and NV* kexts from the /GFXKext/ directory 11. Reboot with -v -f 12. For Leopard full CI/QE, check in System Profiler >>> Graphics/Displays: Core Image: Hardware Accelerated Quartz Extreme: Supported Edited August 20, 2010 by verdant
