I try to install with a -v option and i have this Error: Firewire Unable to determine security mode Still waiting for root device Could you help me, please? maxihouston Posted August 4, 2010 Author Share Posted August 4, 2010 make sure that you changed the access mode for the SATA hard drive in BIOS to AHCI not IDE and please post some more details on your hardware I have a 6700 processor, 2 gb ram kingston ddr2 1066, a ati x550 radeon and a sada hard disc with 2 partition. 1 xp pro and 1 for mac. i tryed to install with a usb install but i can't. I think it's a bios fail configuration, but i don't know how configure. maxihouston Posted August 4, 2010 Author Share Posted August 4, 2010 I have configured the bios like that: Limit cpu-dissabled No exec. prot mem -enabled cpu enhanced halt-enabled cpu eist func-enabled acpi-s3 soft by pwr button-instant off wake up-enabled power on by ring-dissabled hpet support-enabled hpet mode-64 bit sata raid /achi mode-achi sata native-enabled onboard sata-enabled onboard sata control mode-achi init display-peg set ac bach func -soft off If i dissable the ide i can't to do anything but the DVD is ide.
