However, I think you don't need to do anymore. I have tried many days to modify this folder for my on-board realtek AC650, but still no luck. I give up on sound effect finally. Kanji_Man Posted September 11, 2005 Share Posted September 11, 2005 I have a Realtek ALC650 based AC97 on my GA-8INXP and it works without any tweaking with the Install DVD Release 1. From other threads I get the impression that AC97 compatibility also depends on your southbridge chip. blackscooby Posted September 12, 2005 Share Posted September 12, 2005 I had a similar issue where the AppleAC97Audio.kext was missing from my install.
