Dual boot of Windows 7 and Mac os x 10.5.7

First ill start off with I'm sorry if my typing is off I'm on my android phone because my computer won't boot now.

I'll tell you step by step what I did and hopefully someone will be able to help me figure out why my computer will not boot into osx or Windows.

I followed a guide that had me create a separate partition (I created a 40 gig partition) and it then had me boot with the disk and installed osx on that partition which I did. After the installation the computer rebooted and now the computer doesn't recognize any OS. I put my windows disk to do a recovery to boot into Windows and run EasyBCD but it just takes me to windows installing like its a new hard drive without Windows on it.

Did i skip a step? What do I do? Help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

I found I can boot into osx but have no internet to look anything up. The only way I can boot into osx is when I have the system disk in. Otherwise it just says nothing to boot from. When I put the windows system disk it just tries to do a fresh install which I DO NOT want to do and don't think I need to do. How can I boot into Windows to fix this?

Hi,

Have you set the boot partition correctly? Only used to dual booting with Vista and 10.5.8. But you should be able to use the windows disk to set the boot partition to the windows partition, using diskpart then repair windows using the disk, mine would only repair windows if it was set too the correct partition

Hope this helps

Yes, that is absolutely right behaviour. You need to "repair" with your windows disk. But in order for that to happen, you'll need to set the windows partition active. So boot up the install disk, and use SHIFT+F10 to open terminal. Use diskutil to set your partition active (Use help for the right commands). HINT: You need to SELECT things first. Select disk, select partition, active.

Now Use ALT+TAB to go to the other screen, and repair it. Once this is done, set your OSX partition active again, and boot into it with your boot CD, and install chameleon. Or skip this last step and use easyBCD. Its up to you. Also, if you're running this on a "real" mac, then chameleon won't work.
