stuckwithme247
Hey all, Every half an hour or so my ASUS DVD burner randomly makes a reading sound, even when there is no disk in it. I've been on 10.6.4 when this was happening. It happens all the time, and it's still happening even after a fresh install of 10.6.3. Is this an OS X issue or should I replace my burner? I don't have Windows to test it out there. Thanks UPDATE: I've been told that this is an issue with OS X and any drive that is not Sony or Pioneer brand: http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=...157&p=30109
Gringo Vermelho
Not entirely true, I have three Lite-On drives (two PATA, one SATA) that I've been using in various Hackintosh configurations. None of them do that and I've had sleep working one time or the other in both 10.5.8 and 10.6.x with any of those drives installed. One of them is a CD-RW and shows as 'Apple Supported Drive' in System Profiler: http://www.liteonit.com/global/index.php?o...8&Itemid=
