MisterBrownstone06
Sorry If i posted this in the wrong section. Its my first day as a IM member. I decided to partition my HP laptop's HD so that I could run both WIN/MAC on my latop. I installed the OS and everything went smoothly. I then told me to reboot so I restarted the laptop. The Mac software then started to load up and then it stops me and doesnt let me continue because it says that I have no keyboard connected to it. Im using a laptop so I dont have a separate keyboard. So is there a way to fix this or do I have to go buy a USB keyboard to get it to work. And if so, do I need a mac or win keyboard? Any help? Thanks, MisterBrownstone06

MisterBrownstone06
Thanks for the replies. I didnt install ps/2, i should have, that sounds like it would have worled. anyways, so I went to buy a USB keyboard and mouse and everything went great. I can boot up Mac OS just fine, except that nothing on my laptop works. How do I get the wifi to work? and possibly sound? Any other essentials that I should download? Thanks again for your help guys!
oldtopman
Find the manufacturer and model of the broken parts, then search for the appropiate kexts. If you're lucky, you can search for "<laptop model> <broken device> kext"

oldtopman
I guess I wasn't clear enough... Here is an outlone of what to do if your wifi if broken. I have a compaq presario c300 so that will be the example. The output you provided was not the manufacturer or model. Google the laptop or go to the manufacturer's web site. Alternatively, you can open up your laptop, which is not reccomended for the faint of heart but how I found my wifi card model (too lazy to post pic). Google "<manufacturer> <model> kext". Results. Install the kext. Can't find your model? Look up its sister model. Search results for "presario c300 hcl" Search results for "presario c500 hcl" Sinct the laptops are almost if not identical, I can use the wifi kext for the c500. I also have a lot of tested OSx86 installs. I used the c300 instructions.
