Greetings gentlemen

I have had Snow Leo running for the last half year, first 10.6.0 and then 10.6.1 using regular update. But whenever I try to update to 10.6.2 or 10.6.4 (haven't tried 10.6.3), it hangs when almost done booting.

Hardware:

Gigabyte EP31-DS3L

Pentium Dual Core E5300

Gigabyte 9800 GT Silent Cell

I tried yesterday to install again following http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=180954 Again it hangs after installing the 10.6.4 update and rebooting. Using the -v option with the Chameleon update, everything looks fine. Then the screen goes black and nothing more happens.

I could really use some help, for once google isn't my friend...

Just tried the ##### tool. Same result. Hangs when I try to boot into 10.6.4.

What changed so much from 10.6.0 and 10.6.1 so that my machine refuses to boot when I update to 10.6.2 or above???

:)

Use ##### Supported CDROM to boot into your 10.6.4. with only -v boot argument. What do you get?

Hi neil43, thanks for the reply. And sorry I've been so slow in answering.

I'm up on 10.6.4 now and everything is running just fine. I had used the old lifehacker usb boot stick for booting up, installing and booting into 10.6.0. And then I used ##### after upgrading to 10.6.4. After that I couldn't boot into 10.6.4. It must have been some kind of problem with the old lifehacker-setup.

This time around I followed the ##### + ##### manual very closely. And I finally, finally could boot into 10.6.4! Hooray!!!
