neil43
One of my older hacks is a Gigabyte EP45-DS3R with Q6600, GeForce 8800GTS w 640MB, 4GB memory and 500 GB SATA hard disk and SATA DVD drive. This is three or four years old and currently has OS X 10.5.8 (32 bit), OS X 10.6.3 and 10.6.4 (both 64 bit) bootable partitions. Snow Leopard was installed using Kakewalk. Runs well but is dated. I use it as a reference during performance testing and software evaluations. TomCom
Two years old for the motherboard, not more. If you stick with the 775 socket, try to find a second-hand P45-UD3R/P. These are "rock solid" and get a lot of support. zreon
I just purchased a EP45-UD3P and installed it last night and it works great with my q6600, 9800 and kakewalk. gosnis
How are you finding your new EP45T-USB3P? It has to be, and is for me, the very best Socket 775 mother board out there! Now all I need to do is get OSX running on, sweet! gosnis
The consensus is that Asus isn't as reliable as Gigabyte. Additionally, you get more for you money with Gigabyte!
