stanko18
Hello everyone , Ive got this annoying problem. Currently I am trying to install Snow Leopard 10.6 on an Asrock G31M-S, everything is fine except one thing. I want to install the OS from a usb but as you know you cant have both USB 2.0 and USB Legacy support enabled in BIOS. The problem is that when I disable USB Legacy, the PC doesnt recognise the USB flash drive when booting thus I cant boot from it, but when I enable Legacy and disable USB 2.0 - everything is fine, except the fact that it will take days for the PC to read from the USB. So can this be fixed, to make the PC recognise the flash drive without the legacy support enabled? FKA
??? Legacy support is exactly what it says . 'Support' - you will still have USB 2.0 ... D Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/226587-usb-legacy/#findComment-1519432 Share on other sites
stanko18
I have to pick one from them, it have to be USB 2.0 or Legacy. Legacy = boot available + but very slow taking "years" USB 2.0 = fast but no boot so no install Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/226587-usb-legacy/#findComment-1519452 Share on other sites
FKA
Sorry mate but that's rubbish ! I'm looking at the manual for your mobo now. In BIOS under 'advanced' > 'USB Config' Set both USB 2.0 and Legacy support to 'Enable' .. Or buy a USB 2.0 memory key!
