Snow leopard and 10.6.4

Ok guys i got 2 problems and was wondering if anyone could help me out?

1.) I need some sort of hard disk backup utility that WORKS when backing up an entire hard disk with the OS on it. I have tried SuperDuper! and although it backs up perfectly well it does not restore correctly, trackpad dont work after a restore, keyboard locks up therefore i cant login so i end up having to re-install from scratch which can become tiresome and frustrating really fast.

2.) Brief instructions on howto get 10.6.4 working on an Asus Eee PC 1001HA Netbook.

-Hope someone can help :D

-Have a nice day!

1/ I personally use Clonezilla Live (freeware) works on practically everything, its DOS/Terminal based, but very intuitive, or alternatively if you prefer a GUI approach, there's always software by Paragon Software i've used in the past.

note: the Ubuntu testing version of clonezilla allows multithreaded de/compression, which is pretty nifty!. I'm using it full time now myself.

2/ No idea, still trying to successfully (completely) nail OSX 10.6.4 on my Vostro 1700! (sleep is the only issue i'm really peeved at at the moment)

Hope this helps (Y)

Well seeing as im yet to aquire a CD/DVD Drive for this netbook i'll try clonezilla live, when everythins backed up onto my USB hard drive i'll give 10.6.4 a shot, my netbook barely goes into sleep mode anyway, im the sorta person who either leaves it on or simply shuts it down. Thanks for the info though. Just hope when i goto try all this that i dont gotta re-install.

Edit: It worked! Sorta....I can no longer create partitions anymore. Clonezilla did a full clone so now OSX thinks its got a 160GB Drive rather than a 320GB, everytime i try create/resize a partition i get "Mediakit reports partition (map) is to small"

Edit 2: Ended up re-installing and hooking up 160GB Hard disk via USB to transfer all my documents/applications. Looks like CloneZilla isnt for me unless i plan on restoring to a hard disk of exactly the same size as that of what i backed up.

-Have a nice day!
