xthaname Posted July 26, 2010 Share Posted July 26, 2010 I am trying to do a dual boot I have 3 partitions on my drive partition one has windows vista installed in it, partition two is were I intend to install mac osX, while partition three is my back up partition. Booting with an efi boot CD works just fine with my internal DVD rom drive but when I change the CDs and insert my osx CD to continue installation I get an error message (still waiting for root folder), so I got an external DVD rom drive with which everything runs smoothly, and the error stopped. The installation started but when it gets to the disk utility it does not see My IDE controller or hard drive. Please what could be the reason for this and is there a solution u could help me with. my system config is HP compaq presario CA60 AMD sempron SI-42 Nevidia graphics G force 8200M G MMX(+), 3DNow!(+), SSE(1,2,3), x86-64 Wistron mother board 303c DDR2 ram 2GB Thanks I'll be waiting for a reply.
