lon36unn3r
Greeting, I recently installed SL on my hackintosh at this spec: intel i7 860 2.88 4gb ddr3 1300 500gb sata drive IDE dvd burner ATI 4670 1gb ddr3 For the installation I used my external hard disk to clone or restore the SL install disc that i bought from my local mac store. It's not that expensive as I thought it would be. They're a few guide around that I used as guideline. I will not redo any of the guide but will illustrate a little on my path to OS X. After you get your dvd install disc restore to external hard disk will need either the ##### CD or myHack patch on to your external hard disk or thumb drive restore. My best luck was with my hack but will just the bare recommended options that was ticked in. Boot your system with F8 option to boot from the USB drive. As the bootloader boot up hit any key and use -X boot the installer. This will get the installer to boot. Some of the guide i follow they didn't say to boot with -X option. Create your hard disk partition. Make sure its tick with GUID partition format. This is the exact same as the regular mac partition structure. Complete your OS X retail installation. I have better luck using ##### CD to boot up this point and getting to the OS X that previously install. Again using the -X option. My ethernet is working at this point. Graphic is typical safe mode. I connect both vga and dvi on my graphic card because i think its such a hassle to try this try that cable. It works in a lazy man way. Once complete before you update to 10.6.4(my install disc is 10.6.3) back up your ati4600controller.kext and atiframebuffer.kext and atisupport.kext before your start 10.6.4 combo update. After the update complete. Run ##### the latest version you could get your hands on. I used user DSDT on my you could try other its your choice. What I ticked in on ##### - User DSDT - System Utilities - Kext - Audio VoodooHDA 0.2.6 under the experimental version - com.apple.boot.plist - 64bit Apple Boot Screen - smbios.plist - iMac - core i7 - all the OSX86 Software after ##### complete. I got a pop up saying that voodoohda was not properly installed. So i go into /System/Library/Extensions/ Delete AppleHDA.kext Go into Application launched kext helper load it up with the 3 ati kext you back up once that complete launch kext utility. Once all this complete. Reboot your system you should be able to boot into OSX with complete system sound graphic and network. Right now I'm working on getting my PCI wireless adapter DWL-502 to work. I'm not sure if i have qe/ci or not but i made a stop by my local mac store on their imac that have the ati 4670 256mb doesnt seem to say either. If anyone out there that have qe/ci available for hd4670 and showing under system profiler. please either post or pm on the guide you use or share your information. Good luck on your installation. References are search on google on insanelymac and tonymacx86. both guides i used on tonymacx86 and i think on insanelymac that suggest myHack were both extremely well written in my opinion. Since this isnt my first installation it was relatively easy in some area. All my other install were almost 100% compatible. Such as my benq s31 and macbook 13 and my core2duo system. _Jay_
You can check to see if you have full Quatz acceleration by click the dshboard icon, then click the plus sign on the bottom left, then click any widget that pops up. If you get a ripple effect, you have full acceleration. I also noticed that you didn't list the step to delete any NVIDIA kexts that will be installed by SL. Not sure if you just missed it or don't know about it, cause it can cause kernel panics. Also there's a new version of ##### that has the ATI kexts included already. ##### 2.1.0. Release yesturday I think. Edit: How the heck do you get your IDE DVD burner recognized in SL. I have two and still can't use either of them. Jay
