Hi,

I've recently built myself a hackintosh, and everything went well except for the fact that my DVD drive, which is capable of burning cd/dvds, only allows me to read media but doesn't give me access to any burn capabilities in mac os x - my windows7 install allows me to burn, however, so the drive is fully functional.

Everything is as if mac os X only considered the drive as a player without burning capabilities.

The drive is a LG sata drive, HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50.

Anyone has had the same issue? Any lead for solving it?

Thanks,

DonGui

Some more info on my setup, hoping someone will have a tip:

CPU core i7 860

MB Gygabyte P55-UD4

GFX evga GTS 250

Out of despair I bought a new dvd drive, Pioneer this time, still SATA. The issue is the same with this drive, it reads material, but doesn't accept blank media (when I insert a blank cd, nothing happens in the Finder) and therefore cannot burn.

Really, doesn't anyone have a clue on this? Please?
