terramir
I can't boot a 1005ha off a usb HD version of my install even though I installed chameleon there with the newest NBI. However if I use a usb flash drive and use an older version with dellEFI on it I can boot from the usb clone of my 10.6.1. I want to upgrade to 10.6.4 and I want to try it first on my usb bootable copy however I need the proper bootloader installed first so it will boot (that usb stick causes kp's in 10.6.3 so it will probably do the same for 10.6.4). is there any clue of what happened there I mean did melkort change things around that make usb booting impossible? I can patch the kernel and stuff with atom support and I can figure out how to install my working kexts but heres the kicker How can I install chameleon and stuff manually so I can boot off my usb drive from the newest version of chameleon so I can try to install 10.6.4 on usb first so incase it don't work out I don't have to CCC back my main drive just my usb version? The version information chameleon v2.0-rc3-nbi r (is the one from the netbook installer) And the usb key which includes dellEFI is Chameleon 2.0 r431. which one is newer and which modification melkort did might have made it impossible to boot from a usb HD. What I need to do is install it manually probably and that way I can install what is needed to boot my system with usb and 10.6.4 compatible so I can run the upgrade and test it out. Any ideas and a link to a good through tutorial would be nice terramir Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/225827-strange-behavior-chameleon-installed-by-nbi-wont-boot-usb-ccc-copy/ Share on other sites
