Greets,

Can someone please tell me the difference between a normal laptop running WindowsXp and a Macbook?

Are there some quirks running ir on the Mac? What are they? Do the keyboard works perfectly, or are there any keys that for example are named 'a' but when pressed give us a 'b'? And sound?

Does it work with the integrated speaker? Or just with headphones?

Speedstep, is working?

Thanks.

I used it for about a day before giving up and here is what I found.

Speedstep works but I suggest using RMClock to have more control over it.

The mac keyboard is missing a delete key so you cant do ctrl-alt-delete.

There was something funny with the function keys I seem to remember. I was using this

The webcam doesnt work.

Keyboard backlight doesn't work.

Sound works but there is no keyboard shortcut for vol up/down/mute.

There is no trackpad driver so its hard to control the mouse pointer with it, if you use a USB mouse its fine.

USB is a bit flakey - mine bluescreened twice in a day when unplugging my mouse.

You can use Parallels to run windows inside OS X and that is a million times better. I use it every day for windows development while all my mail, callender, messenger and web browser its amazing! http://www.parallels.com/ If you install Growl you get notification pop ups which appear on top of your windows desktop when it is fullscreen and growl supports Adium (msn client) Mail and everything. And just command+tab to switch to an OS X app and it appears on top of windows. All your files are available in os x and windows...the list is endless....its definately the best solution for running windows on a mac book pro.

doesn't input remapper map volume control onto F4 and F5? The most irritating thing is probably the trackpad control, which sucks without proper drivers. Also, I have a problem with screen brightness on my MBP. It's too dim for the lower brightness levels but the highest level is way too bright. The drivers really need to be fine tuned for Leopard.
