Optiarc AD-7530A in USB Case Burning fails in SL

Okies with a free software in windows I can burn just fine to the very end of a dvd-r.

 

The Same file a huge DMG (which BTW doesn't fit on a dvd except as a dmg file go figure.

 

fails to verify burned on macOS X SL but it burns just fine in windows.

 

Seems like the software built in doesn't adjust the laser properly but in windows it does. I burned it in windows 7 with a free dvd burner software Starburn and this 4.36GB file burns fine on cheapy DVD-R 's I then copied it back onto my mac desktop and mounted it and it verified fine. (the last half a gb on a cheapy dvd media tends to be a crapshoot but in this case it went totally fine).

 

Also I burned a dvd with windows DVD maker and well that went just fine as well (I filled that to the max as well.

 

 

 

 

My question is is there a software for macOSX SL that is cheap or free that does the laser power adjustment etc. that might help me not have to go to gatesville which I h8 to do with my netbook
