CYNiCALStudios
Hi everyone, Just want to start off by saying thank you for attempting to help me. Well, I have been trying to use a Virtual Desktop application for a while. Began trying to use Parallels Desktop 5, Didnt succeed, all that happened was that the application wasnt responding. I tried re-install, Also tried previous versions adn still wasnt successful. I then tried to use VMware Fusion 3. Trying to install Windows 7 again, And i got an error saying: The virtual machine is unable to reserve memory. If selecting Retry does not work, try closing programs on the host machine to free memory first. For more information about this error see our Web site at "http://vmware.com/info?id=19". I did what the website said, and still wasnt successful. So i then tried Virtual Box. And had problems with that too. Things arnt looking too got for me My System Specs: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 3.01 GHz RAM: 3GB DDR2 667MHz MoBo: Asus M3N-HT DELUXE GPU: XFX 9800GTX+ 2 Sata HDDs Installed. Thanks to everyone who contributes to helping me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/225098-running-parallels-desktop-5-on-os-x-1058-help/ Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
On OS X, Parallels 4 and above requires a CPU with Intel VT-x, this means it won't work on a Hackintosh with AMD CPU. So is there no possible way to maybe simulate a Intel Processor? Maybe edit some strings in the Install package? Or should i go to using Parallels 3? Gringo Vermelho
Parallels 3 will complain about missing VT-x on every startup but it works. I use Parallels 3 on my Pentium 4 (no VT-x) based Hack, but I'm running XP Pro in it. I don't know if Windows 7 will work in Parallels 3. Gavanelli
I know I am a little late.... I have 3 Hackintoshes only one will run Parallels 1st pc specs are: Dell Inspiron 1501 (laptop) 1gb of ram AMD Turion64 2.0 GHZ OSX 10.5.4 (leo4all) 2nd pc specs are: Dell Optiplex 520 2gb of ram Pentium D 2.8 GHZ Osx 10.6.4 (iatkos S3) 3rd Pc specs are: Dell optiplex 620 1gb of ram Celeron D 2.6 GHZ OSX 10.6..4 (iatkos S3) Parallels will only install on the Dell Inspiron 1501 ..... (go figure) It runs good until AFTER you install windows XP and try to run the windows apps.. Im sure its because of the limited resources. I am going to build another AMD machine using an Athlon 64 and see if I get any results. Ill be back to post my findings.
