ibuprofane
I'll try to keep this short and sweet (lots of details). System Specs: AMD 3200 Venice MSI K8N Neo4-F (onboard Sound/Ethernet) MSI ATI X800GTO 128MB PCIe VGA monitor attached to DVI port OSX 10.4.6 (JaS) Patches: Koverg's Forcedeth Extra Software Added: Mouselocator Google Earth AIM iWork xBench System installed fine. I installed the ethernet patch, which now works. I also installed Koverg's patch, which enabled QE/CI and adjusted the resolution. The problem is that about 10-15 minutes into booting and logging on, the system will crash. This occurs regardless of the system status (anything or nothing running) I checked the startup with the -v option and saw that there were some error with loading some kexts (I also check other logs in /var/log) The kexts were: NVDAResman.kext GeForce.kext IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext AudioIPCDrive.kext Removing the kexts showed no visible change to the system (positively or negatively) Things I also tried (individually, and prior to removing kexts): Turning off energy saving options. platform=x86pc platform=ACPI fixing drive permissions Adding the debug=0x100 flag at boot will cause the machine to only freeze, and not show any sort of kernel panic message. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ibu Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22431-freezing-panic-~15-minutes-after-boot/ Share on other sites

ibuprofane
error loading GeForce.kext: maybe your graphics card doesn't work with Koverg's patch? It's possible, of course, but my device ID (0x554f) matches those of other working (though possibly unstable) systems. As well, I'm getting no errors in loading the patched drivers, as people having problems with Koverg's patch seem to be having. I just reinstalled a few hours ago to see if any other drivers were causing the problem, or if switching out my card during the last install caused problems, but it definately seems to be driver related, as I'm currently logged into my osx86pc and haven't crashed in a few hours or surfing and listening to music (without Koverg's patch installed.)
