how to dual boot on efi

ok, the easiest way:

1. get a copy of prasys' EmpireEFI boot CD and use it to boot your retail Snow install DVD

2. partition your HD as GUID with ONE PARTITION ONLY that uses the whole capacity of the disk (this is important or step 4 will not work) in disk utility and install Snow on it

3. boot into your fresh Snow via EmpireEFI and manually install Chameleon to your EFI partition

4. download modbin's hackintosh version of BootCamp Assistant from my signature and start it up - it has a GUI to help you create hybrid/gpt partition for win7 :)

5. reboot and install win7 onto a newly created partition (do not forget to format it as NTFS in windows installer)

6. profit

i hope you know what patches you need to get your system working (additional kexts, dsdt, kernel), as you haven't said anything about your hardware.

good luck mate!

obviously it is not correct.

just follow the steps i described and it will work

you can use rebelefi, boot-132 or boot think instead of EmpireEFI, whatever boots snow dvd for you.

but notice things i wrote in caps in my previous post. boot camp assistant will not work if you have more than one partition on your disk!

so when preparing your disk for snow install, partition it with only one partition and install snow onto it.

then (in snow) run boot camp assistant from my sig to create a gpt hybrid partition, one that windows installer can recognize. (it will resize your snow partition and create a new one formatted FAT32 and labeled BOOTCAMP)

it is a nice graphical user-friendly tool that will explain exactly what it will do.
