cyberghoser1
Hello, i am not new to the whole OSX86 project but i came across something i cannot understand as why it happens. I try to install various ditros on my desktop and i always got a Kernel Panic upon dvd boot, my system specs are the following: CPU: Intel Pentium 4, 3000 MHz (15 x 200) Motherboard: Albatron PX865PE (Pro) (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 4 DDR DIMM, Audio) Motherboard Chipset: Intel Springdale i865PE System Memory: 2048 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM) BIOS Type: Award (03/01/04) Video Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro AGP (512 MB) Disk Drive: WDC WD800JB-00JJA0 (74 GB, IDE) I tried iDeneb, iATKOS, and currently iPC 10.5.6 Final, the same KP always, tried multiple dvd's burned at lowest speeds, tried also most of the darwin flags such as -v -f -x or cpus=1 etc, nothing worked, get a CPU Kernel Panic (CPUS,0) stacks etc, if anyone can show me the light i will be gratefull, currently downloading 10.4.8 JaS, hope at least that one will boot and allow me to install, but i saw many posts about the same mobo as mine and people getting success so i hope there is some help. Thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/224105-any-distro-dvd-is-resulting-in-a-kernel-panic/ Share on other sites
cyberghoser1
Okay finally fixed, tried JaS 10.4.6 installed successfully but no QE/CI with my ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO AGP so i had to test another JaS release, the 10.5.4 one, and everything is ok, booted, installed, had to choose all the ATA kexts disponible in the customize area to avoid the famous "still waiting for root device" and i am a happy desktop mac os x user, thanks.
