infliction
Hello, before I begin with my post, please note this is my first time messing with operating systems so I am a newbie here. I did some reading up on tons of posts and I finally decided to try and install osx 10.5.7 on my PC. Specs are as follows: AMD Phenom 9600 Nvidia GeForce 9800GT+ 4 gigs of ram Windows 7 64x The end result of all this work is that I need atleast Snow Leopard 10.6.2 running on my computer. (And I read that I need osx 10.5.7 before I can install Snow Leopard. Can someone please confirm this, since I know nothing about macs.) At first, I tried using virtualbox and I tried so many different methods and downloads, and over the course of a week I never got any of them working once. So now, I am trying to dual boot Mac OS instead of running a virtual copy. I am following the following tutorial: http://www.taranfx.com/install-mac-os-x-le...in-9-easy-steps It boots up fine, but then I get to step #4. I go to click on the disk utility, but my partition does not show up. The first time, I created a 15gig partition, and didn't format it. The second time I created a 15 gig partition, but formatted it to NTFS. It didn't show up either time. I just read a few minutes ago that I'd need to format it to AF/HFS. The disk management utility in windows 7 only lets me format it to NTFS or FAT32. Will formatting it to AF/HFS fix this issue? Thank you in advance! Jimster-Jim
Hey looks like you've been waiting a while for a reply, idk if you have fixed the problem yet buut , i found this because im having a similar problem, i was trying to install windows xp so i could install windows 7 upgrade and as it was partitioning it froze and then when i rebooted i had lost to 28gb (which is how much i decided to partition) and the partition didn't show up on disk utility, at the moment i am using disk utility to repair the disk and the permissions, usually that always fixes problems! ill post back to let you know if it works!
