soritong
So after toiling away for the past 2-3 days, I finally got OSx86 working with network, sound, graphics, etc. Since everything was going good, I decided to try my hand at updating the system. The download goes perfectly fine until I try to apply the actual update. It goes to reboot, validates the packages and begins to write. As it's writing, I get the dreaded "Must restart your computer" message. Looking around on the forums, I've deleted the SleepEnabler.kext file and tried it again but still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions to get this update going?
_Jay_
Did you update your Kernel? What chipset brand are you using, AMD or Intel? If you're running AMD then get the new Legacy Kernel that supports 10.6.
soritong
I don't believe I've patched the kernel. Didn't know I was supposed to prior to the update. Mind shedding some light on the process? I'm running an Intel based processor (Core 2 Duo) with 4GB of RAM.
