Post the contents of your com.apple.Boot.plist. What kernel are you using now? Run terminal.app and type uname -a at the promt. Post the output here. Post the output here. currently using Darwin Kernel Version 10.4.0 64bit the plist in the usbboot/extra folder looks like this <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"><dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> </dict></plist> thanks for the help! Gringo Vermelho
Did you manually install a different kernel on your system drive?
Chrisbook Pro
Did you manually install a different kernel on your system drive? no, I didnt mess with anything. I think its just in the root directory. I used ##### nvidia to install os, and now im booting from an internal usb drive loaded with chameleon 2.0 rc4 and pc efi 10.x I thought i remember the documentation for chameleon mentioning saying it uses a non vanilla kernel. is the kernel on my OSX install "/mach_kernel" the vanilla one? or did chameleon replace it? thx
Gringo Vermelho
The Chameleon boot loader does not come with a kernel, and does not do anything to the kernel you have installed. It comes with some kernel extensions though. I am not familiar with "##### nvidia", I suppose it's possible that it comes with a modified kernel. If you do what I asked you to in my first reply I can tell you whether your kernel is vanilla or not.
