NOTORIOUS VR
Hey guys... I'll say this for you... I've used the search feature on this site to find out as much as I can about this error, but it seems like everyone has a different way of solving this random error... This is why I found it would be the best for me to create a new thread about MY computer/install of OS X. Anyways... I'll start off with my computer specs.... I've read that people have installed it with my chipset, so I don't see how it would be a problem, but it's better I list it off now so you know... AMD Opteron 148 (2.2 GHz) DFI LANParty Ultra-D (NF4) OCZ 1GB Ram (2x512) Normally for windows I use my SATA drive, but because I've read there are issues with SATA, I had a spare 80GB PATA drive kicking around, so I disconnected everything (even both of my CD ROMS)... So my IDA Bus is configured like this: Primary Master: Segate 80GB IDE Primary Slave: Pioneer DVR-110D IDE my video card is a XFX 6800GS 256MB PCI-E and my sound is AC 97 complient... I've tried loading normally, and with the following switches: -x -v -platform=X86PC as per the install guides... I've tried making a partition on the HDD using the UBCD, and setting it as active. I've searched and searched about ways to correct this problem, but people just keep saying: Put your HDD on primary master, and your cd on primary slave. And I've followed all of these instructions from the get go. So if anyone could please take the time and give me a hand with this that'd be great! Also, here is a pic of the screen w/ the error... chevy2410
Try putting DVRW as master and HD as slave. It seem to work for me. Make sure it's on the Primary Master chain and not secondary master chain. Hope that helps. Good luck, Chevy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22164-still-waiting-for-root-device-error-when-trying-to-install/#findComment-146586 Share on other sites
