gwprod12
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. It's stuff for people who build computers to sell (though anyone can usually buy it). It doesnt come with manuals or nice boxes, etc. An OEM CPU is just the CPU. A Retail CPU has a box, a heatsink/fan, a product warranty, etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22152-oem-and-upgrades-please-help-me/#findComment-146414 Share on other sites

niteice
Yeah, there's not much of a tangible difference. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22152-oem-and-upgrades-please-help-me/#findComment-146480 Share on other sites
