barnett25
Is anyone out there running a nForce3 chipset and a ATI 9800 Pro? I am having a difficult time getting this combo working. I started with agp drivers. I then installed the Callipso drivers, but that always brought up an error saying it had not been properly installed and couldnt be used. What drivers/settings work for this combo? What capabilities should this combo be able to handle (QE, etc.)? mikesworldus
I have nForce3 and a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro on my 10.4.6 and I got it working perfectly with QE, CI, and OpenGL. I followed the instructions on this page: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=20139 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22128-anyone-using-a-ati-9800-pro-with-nforce3-chipset/#findComment-146270 Share on other sites
barnett25
I have nForce3 and a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro on my 10.4.6 and I got it working perfectly with QE, CI, and OpenGL. I followed the instructions on this page: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=20139 Thanks, I installed the AGPGart for AMD64, along with the Callipso driver. The computer is now usable (does not have the extreme lag it had before), but I cannot change the resolution. It is stuck at 1024x768. I thought that the Callipso drivers were supposed to fix this. Anyone have any ideas where the problem might be? barnett25
I changed the boot.plist and was able to get the resolution changed. I still do not have QE or CI. It seems like Callisto isnt installing correctly even though it is not giving me an error message. It does not show any Callisto related items when I do a -v at startup. mikesworldus
Make sure you're using the latest version of Callisto and follow the instructions included with it. Once you get that installed, then drop the AGPGart.kext into your Extensions folder, repair permissions and you should be good to go. It took me a little installing/uninstalling to get it to work correctly, I guess the process isn't quite perfect yet for anyone. Cr0n_J0b
Can I ask which of the files you used? There seems to be quite a few files and I don't want to install the wrong one and hose the system. I have an Intel with a 9800 pro card.
